The Mbife Foundation is dedicated to the promotion of literacy and access to books for all children in The Gambia.

The Mbife Foundation has a vision to raise a nation of readers, thereby raising a nation of leaders. We want to ensure that all children have access to books and foundational literacy skills to ensure a lifetime with the joy of reading and learning.

We will establish libraries and implement literacy programs in order to help children develop the critical early literacy and social-emotional skills to be successful as leaders in their communities  

Our Project Objectives

• To increase access to books to children of The Gambia To promote a culture of reading among children of The Gambia.

• To promote literacy skills, critical thinking, and creativity.

• To increase access to childrens books in Gambian national languages

• To develop a thriving Gambian Childrens literary community.
